How to add Amcrest cameras to ip cam viewer app

Postby jacknwater » Mon Dec 05, 2016 5:03 pm

Hi I currently have 4 foscams and decided to try out 2 new amcrest cameras. One is IPM-721S (Silver)
by Amcrest and the other is IP2M-841W.

I seem to remember that foscam went a little easier.
Can you tell me please where I can find the host/ip info as show in the photo to add them to my app. Or what I need to do to add them so I don't have to use amcrest app
Thanks

There's probably a compatible driver already in the app. Use Scan Camera function to find compatible drivers.

If you only want Wifi access to camera, then first verify network accessibility by viewing your camera/dvr's login page using the phone/tablet browser.

If you want 2/3/4g access to camera, then verify network setup by viewing your camera/dvr using a PC IE browser from OUTSIDE your home wifi. Next, your phone/tablet browser should be able to load the login page but viewing may not be possible due to lack of active-x IE controls.
See this link for info: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=47

Once that works, then try my app. The "Scan Camera" function can help when you're not sure of the make/model. Try scanning the device's WEB/MEDIA/MOBILE/DATA ports (shown in device settings).

If Scan Camera return no results, then try to find a driver by DVR port or by login screen:

If you still have problems, AFTER scanning ALL device ports and reading all links, then give me temporary access to it and I'll put it into my work queue. Just email me the web login URL and a temporary username/password.

Also, include the make/model and a product url link (if possible).

Thanks,
Rob
