new zmodo camera not appearing in app

Postby Securityminded » Sat Apr 14, 2018 7:42 am

I have a 4 channel Zmodo nvr and can see all 4 nicely in your excellent app. I had to replace one of they cameras with a different model that is compatible with the nvr.:
SKU: ZM-W0002

This new camera is now set up and online in my home wlan. I can see its images using the Zmodo app. It is detected by "IPCsearch" and I have its ip address. But, when I enter the new ip in your app the app can't find the image. The app shows the other 3 cameras fine but not the new one.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.

There's probably a compatible driver already in the app. Use Scan Camera function to find compatible drivers.

If you only want Wifi access to camera, then first verify network accessibility by viewing your camera/dvr's login page using the phone/tablet browser.

If you want 2/3/4g access to camera, then verify network setup by viewing your camera/dvr using a PC IE browser from OUTSIDE your home wifi. Next, your phone/tablet browser should be able to load the login page but viewing may not be possible due to lack of active-x IE controls.
See this link for info: https://hit-mob.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=47

Once that works, then try my app. The "Scan Camera" function can help when you're not sure of the make/model. Try scanning the device's WEB/MEDIA/MOBILE/DATA ports (shown in device settings).

If Scan Camera return no results, then try to find a driver by DVR port or by login screen:

If you still have problems, AFTER scanning ALL device ports and reading all links, then give me temporary access to it and I'll put it into my work queue. Just email me the web login URL and a temporary username/password.

Also, include the make/model and a product url link (if possible).

Thanks,
Rob

ps. You can also use the generic Onvif driver or the Generic URL / RTSP drivers for modern cameras.
