Router non-static ip creates problems

Postby jffmcphrsn » Fri Aug 24, 2018 1:59 pm

I have cable internet access and I have set up a home wlan. The terrific ip Cam Viewer lets me see all 4 cameras very well. But the isp's router changes the cameras ip addresses every few days. So ip Cam Viewer loses contact with the cameras every few days.

Discovering the new ips for each camera and then changing those ip settings in Ip Cam Viewer every few days is a real pain. I contacted the isp support (Verizon FiOS) and they do not provide static ips on residential accounts.

Is there a way to solve this problem? Can ip Cam Viewer use dhcp in an android install to automatically stay on the correct ip?

Anything else I can do? The 4 cameras connect to an nvr if that makes a difference.
