DSC Alarm Monitor

Postby N4Spd » Wed Mar 04, 2009 7:29 pm

This native gPhone application allows a home owner to monitor and control their DSC Home Alarm remotely. You can see the status of zones and arm/disarm the alarm.

With one-time setup in the application and a native Android interface, it makes interacting with your alarm system much simpler from away from home.

We use the software to arm the alarm once we realize we'll be gone longer than expected. The alarm also calls us when it's triggered, allowing us to see which zones were triggered and then monitor IP security cameras (see our free IP Cam Viewer app).

This app works with the DSC TL-150 module. Although it is not longer for sale with DSC, you can still get the Envisalink IP-100D Module (Made by: Envisalink and Sold by: Eyez-on.com); which is made by the same company as the DSC TL-150 module. It provides some additional system capabilities.

You can download/install this application from your gPhone using the "Market" application (link). Search for words in the application name above.

Now includes a desktop widget which displays the current arm/disarm status using an icon along with update date/time and text status.

I wanted to personally say THANK YOU!
Have had the Alarm for years, but never installed it till i got my gPhone and saw your App. That coupled with the IP Cam software make for a very good, warm, fuzzy and secure feeling, having had a prior break-in many years ago. With those 2 Apps alone you have given the phone immense value and its users a good sense of security. Once i can make the time to write a solid Firewall with all required ports forwarded and all issues resolved ill be buying the paid version, love to even pay for the alarm version if you could create a paid one without the ads that would just verify the page was accessible (notifying of possible network related issues). Again,
Thank You,
Thank You,
Thank You!

Glad you're using them. I can't live without them now.
I programmed my alarm to call my cell when it goes off so I didn't have to program the alarm monitor to check the alarm (which would drain the battery).
As for a paid version without ads, will do in the next couple of months.

too bad it's a little more difficult to use the pachube viewer but it's also nice to have 24/7 sensor monitoring. I was thinking of having the thing alert my phone when a sensor value goes out of range (temp, pir, motion, etc...)

There's now a paid version that has no ads and a new Desktop Widget for cupcake 1.5.

Long press on the home screen and select the DSC Alarm widget.
This widget will show the current alarm status (checks every 15 minutes) and also acts as a launcher for the app.

First off, thanks for the cool app.

For the paid version, Are you going to allow the naming of more zones? I currently have over 40 zones. Also, if you do that, maybe put the last triggered zone at the top of the list.

Best Regards,
Mike

feature request.

While the widget is checking the status, how about some sort of notification alert if it changes state, and what changed?

Thanks,
Mike

Any chance you will add support for the TL250 IP Communicator which will allow to make changes to the system rather than just monitoring? Great app!

TL250-support would be fantastic! How are you communicating with the TL 150, via the web interface?
