IP cam viewer - swann DVR PC version

Hi there

I would like to buy this Andriod app but first I need to know if it will work with my system - I have 4 video (composite) cameras (not IP) connected to a swann USB device, this is connected to my PC running the SWAN DVR-4 net software. I know that I can view the cameras remotely from any internet enabled windows PC. I have searched the forum and can see that some swann DVR's are compatible but I'm running it on a PC - Can anyone tell me if I can use the IP cam viewer app with my system?

give it a try. the lite version is free. if you can't get it to work, then please give me temporary access to it and I'll try to integrate it.

Thanks, I tried the lite version but it wouldn't work. My DVR is MPEG based not H264 - can you get it to work, it would be great of you could.

I also have the dvr-4-net usb capture card and havent been able to get it running. I have paid for ip cam viewer and it works great for my other DVRs, just not the dvr-4-net. Is there anyone that does have this working?

Sorry I never did get this working with the USB DVR, I think thats because the app is for H264 and the USB DVR is MPEG? Rob, can you confirm this for us?

yah, in the past, my app only supported h.264 and not mpeg4.

however, the latest version has support for both h.264 and mpeg4.
in addition, it has generic rtsp support.

all this means is that future drivers will have faster and more fluid h.264 and mpeg4 decoding.

I had emailed Robert about the PCDVR's and he told me that they are not supported. I believe that the the new Swann stand-alones are though. I just picked up a Lilin 4 ch stand-alone and there is no comparison in quality. Will record full D1 for each channel (30 frames per second X 4) and has been rock solid so far. The only issue that I have had is that it does not support ptz (yet) on the IP Cam Viewer app. If you need facial recognition or to be able to reaed license plates, I would highly recommend one of these units with minimum 480 TV line cameras. I am currently running it with two 700 TV line Sony Super Had cameras and a Zmodo ptz dome and the recordings are incredible.
