OK finally got IP Cam Viewer full version working with my GeoVision GV-800. Here's what I had to do:
1) On the GeoVision Server (I run version 8.3) go to network settings and set up the WebServer. On the Server tab disable the SSL (could not get it to work with IP Cam Viewer). Set your HTTP port (I use 20200, but you can use anything). On the JPG tab I have Create JPG/GIF files ckecked. I do NOT have 3GPP enabled, nor do I have Mobile enabled. On the Multicast tab I do have it enabled have my external IP entered along with port 8300 (default) set.
2) On my router I have basic port level NAT translation (sometimes known as PAT - port address translation) enabled. I have external port 20200 forwarded to my GeoVision server HTTP port.
3) Dynamic DNS, you may want to use something like
http://DynDNS.com so you can access your server from remote via a domain name like coolcams.dyndns.com instead of your IP address. This is useful if your ISP changes the IP address on you.
4) In IP Cam Viewer on my android I set up camera with the following:
- Name: Use something that describes the cam, like 'Office - Front Door'
- Type: Geovision Servers
- URL:
http://dynamicURL:20200 (where dynamicURL is the URL I mention in #3 above - can't get it to work with HTTPS)
- Cam: the number of the camera you want to watch
- Username
- Password
Then save the camera... That's it just repeat the steps in #4 for each of the GeoVision cams and you're off.
Thanks Robert for a great product! I bought two copies of IP Cam Viewer.
